Jami M. Buzinski
Jami received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2008, and a B.A. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2005. Jami practices exclusively in the area of family law, both on the trial and appellate court levels. Jami’s wide-ranging family law experiences enable her to be an effective advocate and resource for her clients.
Prior to joining Kamerlink, Stark, Powers & McNicholas, LLC, Jami developed her passion for legal advocacy as a law clerk in the Cook County Public Defender’s office, where she interned for two summers. While at the Public Defender’s office, Jami researched complex state and family law issues, and observed seasoned attorneys on the Office’s murder task force and juvenile delinquency divisions. Also, while in law school, Jami clerked for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Office of the Cook County State’s Attorney, Child Welfare Division.
Jami has a unique perspective on family law, having experienced both private and public sector approaches to family law issues. Jami concentrates her practice in contested family matters, including, custody, visitation, child support, maintenance, distribution of marital estates, defense of DCFS reports, appeals of DCFS indicated reports and other marital and parental rights.
Jami has co-authored the second edition of the Child Custody Chapter for the Illinois State Bar Association. Jami is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Justinian Society.
