Vincent J. Stark is a founding partner of Kamerlink, Stark, Powers & McNicholas, LLC. For over twenty-five years, he has practiced exclusively in the area of family law, making him one of the most distinguished and respected family law attorneys in the Chicago area. Though Vincent primarily represents clients in Illinois, he has represented clients in need of his expertise across the United States. Vincent has been selected as a Leading Lawyer and Super Lawyer in Illinois.

Vincent concentrates his practice in contested family matters, including custody, visitation, civil unions, same sex marriages, and removal; complex financial cases involving business valuations; prenuptial and postnuptial agreements; and appeals. He has successfully represented individuals on all issues arising from divorce proceedings, including valuation and disposition of substantial business interests, custody, maintenance, and other marital and parental rights. Vincent is known as an accomplished trial attorney and skillful negotiator. He attempts to reach amicable settlements that are in the best interests of his clients; however, if settlement is not fruitful, Vincent will not hesitate to proceed to trial to protect his client’s interests and obtain the most favorable results.  

Vincent is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He has authored the first and second editions of the Child Custody Chapter for the Illinois Bar Association Law Handbook; the New Legislation and Litigation Issues in Family Law in Family Law Chapter in the 2015 edition of Strategies for Family Law in Illinois. He has published articles and has lectured on areas pertaining to family law, including training medical professionals on preparation of custody evaluations and being retained as an expert in family law matters. As a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council, Vincent was involved in the drafting of legislation for the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Vincent is a past member of the Chicago Bar Association, Fees and Ethics Subcommittee and former Child Representative.

Vincent holds a Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School; and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University.
