Shanna F. Purcell
Shanna F. Purcell is a seasoned negotiator and litigator who is well respected by her peers and known for resolving contested matters with creative solutions. Shanna has practiced exclusively in the area of family law for 16 years, representing clients in a wide variety of pre- and post-decree domestic relations issues such as property distribution, child custody and parenting time, child support, maintenance, college contribution, contempt and enforcement, parentage, settlement agreements and prenuptial agreements. In addition to her litigation background, Shanna has drafted appellate briefs and she has trained in collaborative law through the Collaborative Law Institute.
Shanna gained valuable experience as a law clerk for a general practice law firm while attending law school. After being admitted to the Bar, Shanna joined The Law Offices of Bernadette McNicholas, where she began her career specializing in family law. In May, 2014 Shanna joined Kamerlink, Stark, Powers & McNicholas, LLC and in December, 2014 she was promoted to Partner at the firm. Shanna was recently appointed to serve as a member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee’s Investigative Division.
Shanna is originally from Michigan and she received a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University (1989), focusing her studies in psychology. She later received a Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School (1999) and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November, 1999.
Shanna is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
